Sony KDL37S5500U

SONY #1. After further review, SONY is still #1 with me. I already have a 46″ LCD Bravia and I needed a smaller LCD for over our fireplace. The 32″ Bravia f Sony KDL37S5500U the bill (both size and price0. You can say all you want about Samsung and others, but SONY is still the KING to me !!!

Perfect TV for me. We looked a few brands of TV, Vizio, Samsung, and Sony. We found that Sony has the best picture quality, that is, more realistic color and undistorted details. Samsung seems a b Sony KDL37S5500U too bright for me. And the size

turned out to be perfect for my 12′x12′ living room (I originally thought about 42′ and 40′ TV). we are happy with it.

Great flat screen TV. Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-37L4000 37-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

For the price I paid I do not believe anyone can match this purchase. The sale price included shipping, delivery, unpacking and setup where I wanted it. Although it’s not the Hi Def 1080p, I really don’t notice the difference between 720 and 1080. Perhaps if I were to look really close, I might see some difference, but I am totally satisfied with the great picture this set provides. Also, I highly recommend using the HDMI cable with the TV. (This is not included, but can be purchased at a number of on-line sites at a very inexpensive price. Get two if you’re going to use Blue Ray or a DVD player capable of HDMI.) I am not using a separate audio system, but the built-in speaker system is quite adequate. I’m really surprised at how easy Sony KDL37S5500U is to customize the desired settings for both picture and sound. To say I’m happy with my purchase is an understatement. Thank you Amazon.com!

Do you really love Sony KDL32S5500U ?

Sony KDL32S5500U

Brava!. I bought Sony KDL32S5500U TV for my husband and he loves it. Amazon had the best price on the internet I will always check Amazon first when I am considering buying on-line.

High quality HDTV. We purchased Sony KDL32S5500U HDTV, for our son, for a Christmas present, he is soon to graduate high school and will need something to take off to college with him. We chose Sony KDL32S5500U Sony HDTV because we own a larger version of the same TV and we have really enjoyed it. The new Sony has a great picture quality, just as our other Sony TV. We are very pleased with Sony KDL32S5500U purchase.

SonyLCDTV. Bought this TV for the bedroom- picture quality is very good

Have 46″ Sony LCD in my family room that is a year old & love Sony KDL32S5500U so purchased another Sony. I think the price was excellent on Amazon & Sony KDL32S5500U arrived within a few days- ahead of the original delivery date.

Sony DSCW210P

Camera. VERY easy to operate. Catches pictures quickly with no delay. Great for action shots! With three kids all of my shots are action shots. I enjoy Sony DSCW210P .

Sony Cybershot DSC-W120 7.2 MP. Great camera in small package. I am not a prfessional so simple operation is a big plus. Compared to old Nikon Coolpix, a breeze to operate and navigate. I like Sony DSCW210P .

I do not like it.. I had this camera Sony DSCW 120 for about 4 months; and until now I do not know why sony has this big name. before it, I had a fuji camera and canon. the Fuji is 2MP and to me, Sony DSCW210P give much better photos that this 7MP sony. I was surprised with the bad quality of the images of sony DSCW 120 when you view them on the computer. My old Fuji camera (I think 7 years old) makes much better images. Then only good images from Sony are those when you have plenty of light and sun and in this case any camera gives you very good image. When you take pictures in-door with flash then the quality sinks. So, I rate sony one star out of five. I rate canon five stars. I am planning to buy a Canon camera.

Sony DSCW210S

Great Pictures, Not as Reliable as the Old Sonys. I’ve owned this camera for several months now. It’s mainly my wife’s camera. She carries Sony DSCW210S in her purse most days.

I’ll start with the negatives and then get to the positives:

The charger requires you to remove the battery to charge it. You cannot operate the camera from any power supply in the meantime. Rarely did I ever do this with my old Sony, but I did do Sony DSCW210S a few times. This gives you no option other than buying more accessories from Sony, which is where they always get you.

The charger is unreliable. If you put the battery in and you walk away, there’s probably a 30% chance that Sony DSCW210S won’t charge. Rather the light will blink identifying some problem. I jiggle the battery in and out, and Sony DSCW210S starts working again. This has left us with a dead battery on more than one occasion.

The lens cover that automatically closes to protect Sony DSCW210S - very flimsy. Ours broke after a short time of my wife carrying this in her purse. I’m sure Sony DSCW210S had makeup and stuff bouncing off of it, but the old Sony stood the test of time for 3 years of the same abuse. In fact, that camera still works if you’re careful to make sure the shots are in focus (remember I mentioned half the shots are bad these days - thats if you don’t concentrate)

We asked someone to take a picture of us and they dug their fingernail tip into the button. The silver covered plastic is now permanently dented. Again, I know this isn’t regular usage, but the old Sony has had dozens of random people snap our picture without fail.

The size of the camera - for a really compact camera, this is not very compact. It’s actually larger than our older Sony (which had almost all the same features). I expected in three years of development that they’d miniaturize more of it, or at least reduce its weight. It’s actually heavier, too. This need for more space may have led to the off-board charger.

Classic Sony accessories game - The Memory Stick required for this always costs more than the comparable SD cards used in many other brands. If Sony DSCW210S wasn’t for the overall quality and features of Sony stuff, I’d avoid Sony DSCW210S due to the ridiculous accessory prices.

And now what I actually like about this camera:

5x Optical Zoom! Wow, that’s a lot in the world of compact cameras. I never turn on digital zoom (as that’s just a waste of pixels) so this 5x was a major selling point for me. Sony DSCW210S is noticeably different than 4x.

It takes great pictures most of the time. With my last camera, I started getting bad shots about every other pic.. so we upgraded and that problem is gone.

The features are easy to handle. Any moron could operate this camera in Easy Mode. Even the same person could handle the auto modes with a little light reading. This camera is easy to use.

Looks - Sony DSCW210S looks really good. A lot of people have complimented us for having a cool looking camera. (I believe the black helps that) I realize the point is not the looks, but these colors sure seem to influence sales.

Summary: This is a nice camera. Take care of it, and Sony DSCW210S should serve you well for a while. I will have to send mine in for repair, and then Sony DSCW210S will be treated as a fragile item for the rest of its service life. I can’t assume that this camera will be nearly as tough as the old Sony I had. In this age of Chinese produced crap, this camera is a shining example of lack of durability. You’re working backwards, Sony.

Fantastic Camera for it’s purpose!. I bought Sony DSCW210S camera for my wife to take along with her when she’s out and about with our son! She needs a small/compact camera that was quick and easy to use, took great pictures and allowed her to get them online and off to family and friends.

This camera does that and some. We have had x2 sony P&S cameras prior to Sony DSCW210S and yet again we are extremely pleased! We have no complaints at all about Sony DSCW210S camera.

Also since the price reduction down to $129 you cannot beat the price for a P/S with x5 zoom, 8+MP, 2.7″ screen size, etc…

GREAT BUY!

Perfect!. I got this for my husband and for work. We needed a wide angle lens and this one was the biggest I could find in a camera this size. It’s working great and we’re totally pleased. You will definately need a memory card for taking lots of pictures, but that’s with any camera. The only thing to be aware of - the “Red” camera was a little cheaper, so I went for that - but my husband and everyone says Sony DSCW210S looks like a dark pink. Luckily my husband is secure! So, if you’re getting Sony DSCW210S for a man, be aware that the red is pink.

Sony DSCW210G

Excellent Camera. I’m not going to restate how good this camera is since the top three reviews prove that already. But, I did have to chime in on one slight problem you will need to watch for after purchase. When in the “Twilight” mode, which literally allows you to make great shots with a flash in a pitch black room or area, you MUST use a tripod. On this setting, the camera becomes extremely sensitive to movement from your hand. Even the pulse from your finger. If there is a light source within the view, Sony DSCW210G will streak oddly, leaving you wondering “How did that happen? It’s cool, but how?” Using a tripod keeps this problem from happening. I took a picture of the corner of my bedroom the other night (in total darkness), after I got the camera, and the LED numbers from my clock streaked up in a line toward the ceiling. Everything else in the shot was fine, just the illumination of the LEDs was affected. Other than this small imperfection, this camera is a must-have.

great photos. This camera took great photos right out of the box. Just point and shoot. It’s controls were simple enough for my tech illeterate fiance to document getting ready for our wedding, and then our honeymoon to spain. Sony DSCW210G didn’t matter what time of day or night or the lighting conditions, the camera took beautifull pictures that rivaled my SLR. The smile function was interesting, aperantly you need a $100 smile to get the camera to snap your photo, but was a nice try on the engineers part. Very small and easy to put into a purse or even a pocket and not weight you down. Great camera.

Great little camera. Great camera for the price. Very crisp pictures. Easy to use. Just point and shoot. I love Sony DSCW210G .

Sony VAIO CS21ZQ

sony vaio. Amazing! Less than twelve hours after we purchased the notebook Sony VAIO CS21ZQ was delivered at the ship to address. Congratulations Amazon, your customer service is impeccable. And the laptop is great.

Great computer - unless you want to connect to the internet. Sony VGN-FZ455E

If you’re like me, you do as much research as necessary to get the biggest bang for the buck. On initial inspection, this machine seems to deliver. I have to say I was pretty fired up about getting this machine and eager to start work working with it. But after 3 days of having the machine, I’m sending Sony VAIO CS21ZQ back to Amazon. Here’s the good, the bad, and the deal breaker for why I’m sending this guy back. I DO NOT recommend buying it.

Pros:

You can read all the specs about hardware and I have to say, Sony VAIO CS21ZQ doesn’t disappoint. It’s very good for the price considering what you get. I don’t know about you but the machine really does have quite a bit over overkill. How long Sony VAIO CS21ZQ will take you to fill up a 250GB hard drive? My older Dell has an 80 GB drive and I still haven’t filled Sony VAIO CS21ZQ up after 3 years of using it. But hey, we all got different needs. I was worried about the resolution of the screen but Sony has nailed Sony VAIO CS21ZQ with their LCD technology that has clearly spilled over into this machine. The display is very sharp and very clear.

The BluRay player seems to work well and again is very crisp. HDMI port was hooked up to my 720p, 37″ Vizio and Sony VAIO CS21ZQ didn’t seem to be overly impressive. I really wanted the HDMI output on this computer but I’m not as impressed with Sony VAIO CS21ZQ as I thought I would be. I couldn’t get the BR to play on the flat screen (the player would lock up when I would drag the window onto the extended monitor display) but I think there was an updated driver to fix. I loaded Sony VAIO CS21ZQ but haven’t got to see the fix yet.

Cons:

I know this seems trivial to talk about but here Sony VAIO CS21ZQ is: the power adapter plug-in is at a 90 degree bend (not a straight plug). This is fine except when turned correctly or incorrectly, the plug interferes with the DVD/BR ejection tray and prevents the tray from fully ejecting. I have to laugh because for all the hardware thinking that Sony seemed to do with the machine they botched Sony VAIO CS21ZQ with the AC power plug-in because of a 90 degree bend. Funny.

The Deal Breaker:

It seemed to take forever to get all the information loaded onto this machine. And yes, Sony did put lots of trial software on but it’s easily uninstalled. However, I have worked for the last 3 days trying to get all information loaded and all the bugs worked out on this little darling. But here’s the kicker: this little devil WILL NOT STAY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. Sony VAIO CS21ZQ will not stay connected either by a wired or wireless connection. The ISP is confirmed to be working and I get all indications that there is a strong signal but there is some disconnect between the connected signal and Internet Employer or Firefox. These programs simply will not display information even though there is every indication that there is a connection and all hardware is working correctly. I’ve tried Sony tech support and other internet sources. I’ve tried to reconfigure the router to WPA (by the way Vista doesn’t support WEP security), and I’ve tried connections on a non-secure network. Guess what? Nothing is dependable or stable. No amount of tweaking will correct the problem. Tech support wants me to wipe the entire system to start all over even thought all the drivers are up to speed. I’m thinking not so much. Delete all so I can just start all over to load up my information again? Great idea tech support! I’m not 100% sure but I think this a common problem with Vista (nice job MS). Big picture: Sony VAIO CS21ZQ a great computer unless you need to connect to the internet. That’s why Sony VAIO CS21ZQ gets the shabby rating. I’m sending this guy back to Amazon and will try an Apple. I’ve avoided an Apple for years but I’m ready to dumb Sony VAIO CS21ZQ down with the next machine and just want Sony VAIO CS21ZQ to work.

Fabulous Computer, Short Battery. This comptuter had everything I was looking for.

I needed a work computer with Windows Vista Business. I needed at least 2GHz dual-core. I wanted HDMI output to connect to my Samsung 52″ TV. I wanted discreet graphics for games. I wanted Bluetooth. I wanted a large hard drive. I wanted at least 3GB Ram.

I’ve played Guild Wars on this computer and the framerate is around 40 fps. I’ve played WoW on this computer and the framerate can go as low as 30 fps, but can go as high as 60 fps, very much playable. The speakers are not very loud, so I recommend headphones for games or for watching DVD’s.

The computer is thin and easily stuffed into my laptop backpack. The power brick is not too big, but not very small either.

I would have prefered a 13″ or 14″ screen for portability, but this screen is way nice. The screen is bright and clear, although the glossy surface makes watching DVD’s less nice.

The battery doen’t last long. On high performance mode, the battery lasts 1.5 hours or so. On power saver mode, Sony VAIO CS21ZQ lasts 2 hours.

The trashware that came with the computer can be a chore to unistall, so I just left Sony VAIO CS21ZQ all there, eating my hard drive space and probably consuming processing power.

Sony VAIO CS21SR

Sony VAIO Vgn-CR409E. I have to return Sony VAIO CS21SR item because I think for me there License Agreement is outrageous SO PLEASE READ THERE LICENSE AGREEMENT PLEASE READ IT. Before Agreeing

I like the product but the license agreement is outrageous

Exactly what I was dreaming of. Beautiful, fast, packed with features and software and ready to go in minutes right out of the box, I fell instantly in love with the thing. And being a longtime Mac person Sony VAIO CS21SR was a difficult decision to give a Window machine a try. So yes the sound is a little weak, surprisingly from a Sony object, and now I hope Sony VAIO CS21SR doesn’t break in 3 weeks, as I read a lot about Vaio problems… In the meantime I see in Sony VAIO CS21SR everything I need from a laptop. And Amazon offered an incredible price, free delivery that happened to be the next day. So far a top consumer experience for me.

The laptop of my choice. I purchased this laptop because of the style, the sony brand, and I was impressed with my families vaio’s, and i’m very pleased I did! One thing to start with is the price, Sony VAIO CS21SR is very good and competitive (I did look around) also the screen looks so bright and the picture is fantastic. I have grown ever fond of sony in the past couple of years but only recently have I been this happy with them. Everything I have ever bought with the name sony on Sony VAIO CS21SR has lived up to my ever growing expectations, this laptop is no exception. If you are looking around for a laptop I would advise to give sony’s modles a look, they have such style and class in there design, and are packed with features and nice layouts. This is a great laptop, I am happy I bought it.

Wow! VAIO CS21SW Sony
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 04 30th, 2009| icon3Comments Off

Sony VAIO CS21SW

A good, compact notebook with solid performance. I bought the Sony VAIO VGN-SR140E/B 13.3 inch notebook after 4 years with my old Acer laptop. The Acer was bulky and ran pretty hot, so this time I decided to get myself something more compact, since I want to be able to comfortably hold Sony VAIO CS21SW on my lap. I have to say that I’m very pleased with this notebook.

This VAIO is very small and light. Sony VAIO CS21SW weighs something like 4 lbs. Besides being compact and light, I also like the fact that Sony VAIO CS21SW doesn’t run hot. Sony VAIO CS21SW stays cool pretty much all the time. The fans are very quiet and barely noticable, even when they spool up (which happens once every two days, if that). The design of the notebook is very nice. I wish Sony VAIO CS21SW had more USB slots, but there’s always some trade offs with a compact notebook. The biggest drawback is that the screen is on the small size. If you have bad vision you’ll have a hard time with the screen resolution. Unfortunately the screen resolution can only be adjusted in such a way that Sony VAIO CS21SW looks like absolute crap if it’s anything other than the native resolution. I’m not a computer wiz, so I don’t know how else to explain it. Personally, the 13.3 inch screen works out fine for me.

Other than that, Sony VAIO CS21SW runs Vista without any problems. I haven’t experienced any slowdowns so far. Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase. For those looking to buy one of the 13.3 inch VAIOs, make sure that you are Ok with the screen size, because Sony VAIO CS21SW may be a little too small for some people.

Great!. This laptop is great! I bought mine approximately two-three monhs ago and have not found one thing about Sony VAIO CS21SW that I don’t like. This is a great laptop at an affordable price!

Way Overrated. This laptop suffers from several expected and unexpected (features). First, Sony VAIO CS21SW costs about twice what Sony VAIO CS21SW should, compared to its competition. There is only one widescreen screen resolution available, anything else is just distortion. Don’t buy this unless you have young eyes or expect to wear maginfying glass spectacles. Surprisingly, there is a lot of plastic in this case - they want you to believe its all metal but the bottom is plastic and quite flimsy. Sony has loaded Sony VAIO CS21SW with a ton of useless software. Vista uses 1 gig of ram to start up - don’t think of ordering this with less than 2 gigs. Ah, Vista, its really too bad that you can’t get this laptop with XP as Vista is the most bloated piece of junk Microsoft has ever designed. My company is still able to order Lenovo laptops with XP and will, until absolutely forced to go to Vista.

Crazy on VAIO CS21SP Sony
Posted by admin in Uncategorized on 04 30th, 2009| icon3Comments Off

Sony VAIO CS21SP

vaio fw or sr?. Sony has something that I love.I’ve purchased two vaios with almost same configuration. One FW 16,4 inch with 1080p and blu-ray drive(record and play) for home use, other 13,3 inch 1280X800 SR for moving around .Both 2,26 processor,4gb RAM and 320 with vista(witch takes from you almost 30gb of HD) 64 bits. Both are great on image, resolution and charming.Once more sony could let us choose witch software we really want, because lots of programs are confusing lowering still more the OS. Everyone would like to have a powerfull notebook, but nothing is more disappointing than speed of vista. In addiction 64 bits is incompatible with fhash player, and active x programs of security banks.Talking about this vaio, Sony VAIO CS21SP could have an hdmi output to hook Sony VAIO CS21SP in a hd tv. Only a VGA is a shame. The fingerprint password is more a game than security because sometimes you have to try twice or more times. We feel that something lower the performance of this 4gb of ram and 2,26 processor, that this pc could do more. It’s poor having to create recovery disks hidden inside the some partition of the HD.I recomend this brand because of quality and confiability, but the amount of software offered for two months could be choosen by the buyer. Why we have to spend $1300,00 for the note and more $500,00 for aditional software?

Almost Perfect……. The Sony SR250J is a good laptop. I bought Sony VAIO CS21SP for my father but find that I am using Sony VAIO CS21SP far more than he. The machine is reasonably fast and 4gb of ram really helps Vista move along. However I did not give Sony VAIO CS21SP 4 stars because I feel sony should have included a recovery disc and not make the end user create one. Sony VAIO CS21SP took 3 hours to create 2 recovery dvd’s. Now I am not sure if Sony VAIO CS21SP created Sony VAIO CS21SP from the leaner install (removed all the unnecessary software) or from the recovery partition that sony does not mention Sony VAIO CS21SP has. Turns out there is a recovery partition that can be accessed to reinstall the computer back to factory.

The other gripe I have with the laptop is that the screen collects finger prints and dust real easy. So have some screen wipes handy. Otherwise the laptop is great. I love it, however its not for me so i am going to have to buy myself one. Also if you plan to install Linux in dual boot, research Sony VAIO CS21SP since this is an vista 64 bit install and i cant seem to get linux to boot up.

A tad frustrating!…..cost wise that is!!!!!. I received this notebook yesterday. Frustratingly, the price has dropped about $35 in the intervening two days between ordering and recieving the machine. Bummer. Regardless, here are my initial observations.

I am upgrading from the Vaio PCG-TR3A, a lovely little notebook however struggling now with only 2GB’s of RAM and, like it’s owner, an ageing processor. I was however impressed with the TR3A’s monitor which, with a pair of “cheater” reading glasses was clear and sharp, although a little small. My main reason for buying the TR3A was it’s portability however, after analysis I realized I really don’t travel as much as I would either like or can afford to, so Sony VAIO CS21SP was time to upgrade.

I decided to stay with Sony as opposed to other PC’s primarily for the monitor and research confirmed that Sony still appears to be ahead of the game in this department. I initially considered the new Vaio “Z” series, however I could not warrant paying the extra dollars based on my normal PC usuage and hence I decided on the Vaio SR series. My other major requirement/desire was for a “fingerprint” reader so that I could log on to Amazon that much more quickly to spend my hard earned “dosh”.

As usual, my new purchase arrived smack on time, ie, next day delivery at a very reasonable cost based on my “Amazon Prime” membership (highly recommended if you are an Amazon Junkie as I am). Interestingly the neoprene cover I ordered with the PC was delayed, by UPS Sony VAIO CS21SP appears, but it’s not a big deal right now however, when one pays for a “next day” service, maybe one should expect it?????

The PC was well packaged by Amazon and Sony. Out of the box there were no apparent problems. I was struck by how compact and light the SR is even though Sony VAIO CS21SP has a larger screen size than my TR. I have to also comment on the rubber studs that the machine sits on. I did read in my research that the studs are lacking in tactility (I think I just invented that word) and “pooh poohed” the comments I read. I have to report, however, that on our countertop surface, the SR reacts similar to the puck on a “table hockey” game. This is great if you want to share your recent web findings with your partner on the opposite side of the table, however you have to be aware of Sony VAIO CS21SP and a little careful. I’ll be honest, I was a little dismissive of this comment initially however Sony VAIO CS21SP is really evident however liveable with.

This is my first machine and real experience with Windows Vista and so far I have no real complaints. Connecting with my WiFi network went smoothly and upgrading Vista also went well. The SR screen so far meets my expectations although I have not challenged the machine graphically.

I am hugely impressed with the speed of the machine, especially on the web. My TR3A was exceedingly slow, even with an “n” wifi adapter. I also immediately notice the SR runs a lot cooler than the TR although I have to report I do not “game” or any such activity.

So far I am a little dissaponted with the “Fingerprint reader”. I registered my finger print however Sony VAIO CS21SP takes constant re-try’s to get a good reading when logging on! Now, this may be operator error and I need to work on my technique and consistency, however, I did think that Sony VAIO CS21SP would be a little more “friendly” and I hope that this aspect improves as Sony VAIO CS21SP was an important purchasing feature.

The keyboard is nicely spaced which helps as I am a touch typist…..hmmm,…..isn’t everybody these days? I am noticing a few errors….missed keys that is……beyond my normal typo’s…..but again that may be “operator error” and I need to give Sony VAIO CS21SP time. I also note a frustrating errant cursor secondary to, I believe, a very sensitive touch pad. Again I think this will impove as I become more familiar with the machine.

In general, I am pleased with the Sony Vaio SR250J and I hope as I become more familiar with the machine I will become even more enamored with it, and Sony VAIO CS21SP with me!!!! In today’s economy, Sony VAIO CS21SP may be worth waiting a week or two to purchase the machine if you are considering this computer, as, with luck, Sony VAIO CS21SP will be half the price I paid for it, however, that being said, Sony VAIO CS21SP is definitely great value compared to my TR3A as the SR is at least $600 cheaper and is a much more powerful and up to date machine.

Review about CS21SV Sony VAIO

Sony VAIO CS21SV

Do not buy sony vaio laptop ( Worst’s laptop company in the world belive me). I purchase my laptop 10 months back and in that 10 months i sent my laptop to repair center 3 times, same problem in both the time i am not able to power on my laptop.customer service is very worst, they did not care customer problem and talk arogantly. So please do not buy Sony VAIO CS21SV product.

Shoulda Been A 3 1/2 Stars. I purchased Sony VAIO CS21SV laptop to work from home with. At first I was over charged $150.00 by Amazon. I got that settled. When I received the laptop, the CD/DVD door was jammed closed and I was unable to open it. I called right away and was sent a replacement and told NOT to send the defective one back until i received tne replacement one- I liked that, since you never know what can happen in the mail. The second laptop arrived quickly and appears to work fine.

Over all the laptop is nice, but the transaction with Amazon was a little sour.

Sony customer service sucks but the pink color is HOT!. I have the newer CR-490 version of this computer ( Intel® Core(tm) 2 Duo Processor T8300 ,2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Hardrive). I was on my way to the apple store when the pinkness of the laptop caught my eye. My ex has had Vaios for a few years and swears by them. After going to the Apple store & being overlooked by all the sales reps ( a class was about to start, so in all fairness maybe they didn’t realize I was there to purchase), I decided on this cute little number instead. I had to wait a little over a week because they can’t keep them in stock but I was able to buy one 10 days ago.

About 5 days after buying it, my network adapter stopped working and I had to call Sony support. The two gentleman that helped me were wonderful. The first tech couldn’t get my adapter to start, so he transferred me to a senior tech who corrected my problem via remote access. I was pleased, until my adapter went out again last night. I called sony support again and this time the tech was RUDE! He asked if I remembered what the previous tech had done to fix the problem. When I replied he fixed Sony VAIO CS21SV via remote access, he said remote access was too vague and that I had to have remembered some of the things that he did. I stated, again, that the tech used remote access to try several things and that I was unsure of what he did because none of Sony VAIO CS21SV required my assistance. ( Anyway, if I could remember what the tech did, I wouldn’t need tech support again now would I ?) He then went on to tell me to look in my tool bar for items that did not exist and no matter how many times I told him that there were no double arrows showing, he kept instructing me to look for them. I finally got fed up and requested to speak to someone else. He said there were no other techs available. I requested to speak to a supervisor and of course no supervisor was available either. He told me to call back the next day. I called back today and low and behold I got the same guy. I ask for a supervisor and he comes back, after leaving me on hold for several minutes, and states that no supervisor will be available until 9 am EST. I informed him that I was calling from the east coast and the time was currently 9:34 EST so therefore I would like to speak to a supervisor. He argued that Sony VAIO CS21SV was 7 am EST and that a supervisor wouldn’t be in for 2 more hours. I hung up. I called back at 2 pm EST and asked again for a supervisor. A young lady stated that she would see if a supervisor could accomodate me. She placed me on hold for several minutes, only to come back and state that the supervisor said he could not accomodate me at this time. I told her that as a repeat Sony customer (several tvs, video game systems and vaios) that my family would not be dealing with Sony anymore if this was the kind of service they offered. I called the store that I purchased the computer at to see how to make a complaint with Sony’s Headquarters. I was told that unfortunately phone support isn’t always the best but that they would be more than willing to help in the store. They are going to exchange my laptop for a new one and will allow me to deal with them in the store from now on. The only problem is the store is an hour away and it’s the closest one.

That being said, the laptop is an eyecatcher. Several friends have been oohing & aahing over the “girlyness” of it. It’s very lite and doesn’t burn my leg like the old Averatec back up laptop that Sony VAIO CS21SV is replacing. The battery power could be better. I get about 2 hours. Sony states 2-4 hrs. I noticed some reviews complained about the feel of the keys but I haven’t noticed anything distracting about them. The touchpad is also easy to use as well. I am having difficulty getting used to Vista though. Sony VAIO CS21SV is soooo much slower than XP. I was told that Vista takes about 1GB of memory to run and that if I increase my memory to 4GB, I should see an improvement. I hope so. Vista’s layout is also a little annoying. I’m used to having everything in plan sight with XP and find myself having to frequently use the help menu to locate things. I guess I’ll get used to Sony VAIO CS21SV in time.

So if you’re in the mood for an eyecatching design and have easy access to a Sony store, this might be the laptop for you. If you will have to deal exclusively with Sony phone support, I’d suggest getting an Apple or a Dell( comes in several colors as well). Also beware, if you purchase Sony VAIO CS21SV from a Sony Store, there is a 15% restocking fee if you return it. OUCH!
